The Office of Information Technology strongly recommends that you use the latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser for best results. OIT does not recommend using Chrome to edit content in Canvas.
Please note that some browser updates may develop after the publication of this site. This in mind, regularly update your browser as those updates become available. As of July 31, 2015, Canvas supports the most recent versions of Flash and popular web browsers:
- Internet Explorer 10 and 11
- Safari 7 and 8
- Firefox 38 and 39 (Extended Releases are not supported)
- Flash 17 and 18 (for recording or viewing audio/video and uploading files)
- Respondus Lockdown Browser(supporting the latest system requirements)
Some supported browsers may still produce a banner stating Your browser does not meet the minimum requirements for Canvas. If you have upgraded your browser but you are still seeing the warning banner, try logging out of Canvas and deleting your browser cookies. Click here for help with clearing your cache. To access your online courses in Canvas, visit the myDSU page and select the Canvas login button.
Your DSU Online Services and your Canvas login and password are the same. Any changes you make to your DSU Online Services will be reflected in your Canvas course management system login.
The Office of Information Technology wants to foster student success in the new LMS by making sure they also have access to the tools and resources necessary to become proficient, competent users.
Students can learn more about Canvas by participating in the the DSU Student Canvas Orientation. Participation in the course does not affect students’ University grades. Students who complete designated course assignments can earn digital badges and a Certificate of Completion.
Accessing the Orientation-
- Log into Canvas
- Click the Help button in the upper right corner
- Select DSU Student Canvas Orientation
- When the course opens click Join This Course on the right sidebar to get started

How do I access DSU online services?
Go to the Delta State University homepage (deltastate.edu) and select myDSU-it’s just at the top right of the screen.Then select login to the DSU Online Services. Enter your DSU Student ID# or SSN and password (6 digit PIN number)
I forgot my DSU password for online services! What do I do?
After you enter your DSU Student ID #, click Forgot Password. You will then be given a secret question. Answer correctly and you will be asked to enter a new PIN. Of you can’t answer, you will need to contact the Registrar’s office at 662-846-4040 to reset your PIN. Note that if you try to enter the wrong PIN too many times, you may become locked out of the system and will have to contact the Registrar’s Office. This is for your protection!
